As a mechanical design engineer in the Moving Parts and Engine Structure team you will work with engineering, design and CAD modelling of key engine components such as crankshafts, connecting rods, crossheads, chain drives, bedplates, frame boxes, bearings, and bolts. The concept designs of many of the components we deal with are developed by our R&D department. Your main responsibility is to bring the components from concept to the finished product which can be handed over to the engine builders.
You will work closely with our R&D department as well as with the engine builders to ensure a production friendly, serviceable and robust design. The design work takes place in cross-functional teams with a wide range of competencies. The primary design tools are CAD (Siemens NX) and in house calculation programs. Depending on the your qualifications and interests you will have the opportunity to work with other tasks like trouble shooting, stress analysis (FEM), programming of tools, improving the CAD modelling work flow or project management on top of your main tasks as design engineer.
Occasional travels to our partners in Japan, Korea and China (maybe 10 days every other year) must be expected. We imagine that you: You have a relevant degree in mechanical engineering or similar higher education and an interest in working with mechanical design. Relevant work experience is an advantage but not a requirement.
