Mechanical Engineer in Application Design Department

You will play an important role in:

Developing, designing auxiliary equipment for the new fuel type engines; i. e. LNG, LPG, Methanol and Ammonia. Working with various technologies and processes for the marine industry, being precise mechanical equipment, high pressure hydraulic system, cryogenic equipment, liquid gas and gaseous gas, skid design, etc. A typical day would consist of design and development work, interaction with suppliers, production sites, project managers and follow up on service experiences from all over the world.

You will be joining a sub - team of 6 persons within the department, managing auxiliary units, but with support from a wide spectrum of the organization and competences. Limited travel (below 15 days per year) in connection to tests and service follow up is expected in this position. We imagine that you: Have a Bachelor's / Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering.

Hands on experience with designing and developing mechanical components hydraulic controlled pumps and related systems, preferably from the maritime industry or process industryFamiliarity with material requirements for stainless steel and design experience with hydraulic systems preferredFEM calculation including design optimizationKnowledge of selected industry standards and regulations preferred (e. g. , ISO, ASME). Experience in Test description and performance of components preferred. Experience in root cause analysis and documentation, including HAZOP, design review, etc. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

In cooperation with other departments, customers and cooperation partners, we take concepts and ideas and engineer them into commercial design.
