Position SummaryJacob’s House is seeking a visionary and experienced Executive Director to lead the organization’s operations, staff, programs, fundraising efforts, and strategic planning.
The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors and serves as the public representative of the organization. Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & StrategyProvide overall leadership and management of the organizationCultivate a positive, mission-aligned culture among staff, volunteers, and boardLead strategic planning and implementationProgram & Guest ServicesEnsure delivery of trauma-informed, high-quality guest servicesOversee daily operations and uphold safety and hospitality standardsMaintain facility quality, cleanliness, and warmthFundraising & EventsDevelop and implement fundraising strategies, including grants, donor cultivation, and annual givingLead planning for fundraising events (e. g.
, annual golf tournament)Build strong relationships with individual and corporate donorsFinancial OversightManage the organization’s annual operating budgetEnsure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and responsible spendingPartner with the board on fiscal planning and resource allocationCommunity & Board EngagementRepresent Jacob’s House in the community and with key stakeholdersBuild partnerships with hospitals, local government, and businessesEngage with the Board of Directors to advance organizational goalsRecruit, train, and support volunteers and board membersQualificationsRequired:
BA/BS Degree and/or 5+ years of leadership experience in nonprofit, healthcare hospitality, or human servicesStrong fundraising and grant writing backgroundProven experience in financial management and strategic planningExcellent communication and public speaking skillsAbility to lead and inspire diverse teams and volunteersValid California driver’s license and reliable transportationPreferred:
Experience planning donor events (golf tournament experience is a plus)Knowledge of nonprofit governance, trauma-informed care, and volunteer board developmentCertification in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, or social impact managementSkills & CompetenciesStrategic thinking and leadershipStrong organizational and project management skillsDonor engagement and stewardshipEmpathy, discretion, and confidentialityProficiency in tools such as DonorPerfect, Excel, Canva, Google Workspace, HHK, and donor CRM platformsCompensationCompensation will be in the range of $65,000 to $80,000 annually, depending on qualifications. Performance bonuses and additional benefits may be negotiated within the listed compensation range, at the discretion of the Board of Directors.
