Experienced Bookkeeper Needed

We specialise in cross-border tax compliance, bookkeeping, and VAT/Sales Tax services across the UK, USA, and EU markets.We are now expanding our remote team in Sri Lanka and seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Bookkeeper with strong accounting knowledge and practical experience using leading bookkeeping platforms.Role OverviewAs a Bookkeeper at Sterlinx Global, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely reporting for our global clients. You will work remotely with international businesses, primarily those based in the UK and USA.The ideal candidate is reliable, accurate, and confident working independently in a remote environment.Key ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day bookkeeping for multiple international clients.Record and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.Prepare and assist with monthly closing and financial reporting.Support VAT (UK) or Sales Tax (USA) filings and related documentation.Maintain up-to-date client records in Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.Communicate with clients via email or virtual meetings regarding missing data or clarifications.Ensure all bookkeeping entries are complete, accurate, and compliant with applicable standards.Required Qualifications & SkillsBachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping experience.Proficiency in at least one of the following accounting systems: Xero, QuickBooks Online, or Sage.Knowledge of UK or USA accounting standards (VAT, Sales Tax, Self-Assessment, etc.).Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote setup.Reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace suitable for virtual work and client calls.Desirable:Xero or QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification.Experience working with eCommerce clients (Amazon, Shopify, eBay, Etsy, etc.).Prior experience in remote or virtual accounting teams.Salary & Work HoursSalary: LKR 60,000 circa per month (based on experience).Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (UK Time).Location: Remote – based in Sri Lanka.How to ApplyPlease click to apply and fill out the form with as much details as possible.
