Do you want to help bring more renewable energy safely to market – every hour, every day?At Norlys Energy Trading, we optimize portfolios of wind and solar assets across Europe and work closely across the entire value chain - from forecasting to trading. Our teams combine data-driven solutions and domain expertise, building models and insights together with analysts, quants, and even a dedicated meteorologist to turn data into real market impact.Your roleYou’ll be responsible for monitoring the actual production of our wind and solar assets against short-term forecasts, identifying deviations in real time and finding the reason behind the deviation. You’ll analyze root causes, implement analytical models and collaborate with trading, dispatch, and asset management to close the gap between expected and actual production.Key responsibilitiesMonitor live production vs. forecast for wind and solar across sites and portfolios.Identify and quantify deviations and perform root-cause analysis (SCADA signal quality, availability, curtailment, grid, icing, etc.).Deliver actionable insights for trading and dispatch (adjusted expectations, alerts, cut-in/out, maintenance windows, etc.).Improve data quality: validation, outlier detection, and governance of high-frequency time series.Collaborate with quants and the meteorologist on model enhancement and nowcasting (feature engineering, ramp-rate analysis, ensemble blending, A/B testing).Define and maintain KPIs, standards, and runbooks for asset performance.Conduct ad hoc deep dives and post-mortems on major events (storms, inverter faults, downtime).“Every percentage point we improve in forecast accuracy makes renewable energy more reliable — and that’s how we move the green transition from ambition to reality.” - Anders Borup, Head of PtX SolutionsYour profile3–6+ years of experience in energy markets, renewables, TSO/DSO, or similar analytical/forecasting roles.Strong Python and SQL skills; experience with Looker, or Plotly is a plus.Familiar with SCADA/telemetry, time series, and data pipelines (APIs, message queues, data lakes).Solid understanding of short-term forecasting (NWP models, ensembles, nowcasting) and common error patterns in wind/solar predictions.Clear communicator able to bridge analysis, trading, and management – in English.Thrives in a high-paced, collaborative environment where trading, analytics, and tech work side by side.What we offerA dynamic work environment in Aalborg’s growing energy-tech hub – helping build the “Silicon Valley of energy trading” in the north.Close collaboration with talented colleagues across trading, quants, software, and meteorology – and the chance to see your analysis drive real decisions in the market.Freedom to shape tools, processes, and models in a rapidly growing company driving the green transition.Tech stack (examples)Python, SQL, dbt/ETL, Timescale/Influx/BigQuery, Airflow, Git, Looker, Grafana, REST/GraphQL, event streams (Kafka / PubSub).Submit your CV and application through our careers page.
