Job Title: Director, Clinical EngineeringLocation: On-site | Zanesville, OH 43701 (relocation assistance available)Employment Type: Full-time | Director levelIndustry: Hospital & Health CareAbout the RoleA large regional health system is seeking a senior Clinical Engineering leader to oversee its Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) program. You will manage 20 k+ medical devices across acute-care and outpatient sites, lead a multidisciplinary team, and serve as the primary liaison to hospital executives on all biomedical matters. Key ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic direction and daily oversight of the clinical engineering program. Lead, coach, and evaluate supervisors and technical staff, fostering a high-performance culture.
Ensure timely maintenance, repair, and calibration of biomedical equipment to meet CIHQ, DNV, and Joint Commission standards. Drive process-improvement and capital-planning initiatives that enhance patient safety and operational efficiency. Manage departmental budgets, vendor relationships, and service contracts. Partner with clinical and executive leadership to align HTM goals with organizational objectives and growth targets. Requirements (Must-Haves)Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience. Minimum 5 years directing biomedical services in a multi-facility or large health-system environment. Demonstrated success collaborating with C-suite stakeholders. Hands-on knowledge of CIHQ, DNV, and Joint Commission (JCAHO) compliance.
Proven ability to lead and mentor high-performing teams and manage budgets. Preferred (Nice-to-Haves)CHTM or CBET certification. Experience converting HTM departments into revenue-producing service lines. Lean Six Sigma or similar process-improvement training.
