About The PositionPlaskolite is looking for an Extrusion Manager to support our Zanesville, OH, manufacturing facility. The Extrusion Manager is responsible for leading and directing all extrusion production operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing of PLASKOLITE products. This role oversees multiple shifts and teams, ensuring that production goals align with company standards for safety, quality, cost, and delivery. The Extrusion Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for the department, focusing on process optimization, team development, and continuous improvement initiatives.This position plays a key role in coordinating resources across Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Scheduling to achieve organizational objectives. The Extrusion Manager is expected to demonstrate strong technical knowledge of extrusion processes, sound decision-making, and effective leadership to drive operational excellence and sustain PLASKOLITE’s commitment to world-class manufacturing.This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality—reflecting Plaskolite’s core values of Integrity and Improvement. JOB FUNCTION/PURPOSE:Provide strong leadership and direction to the extrusion production team. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Develop, coach, and mentor supervisors and operators to reach performance goals. Drive engagement and collaboration across departments to achieve production targets. Ensure consistent execution of Plaskolite’s standards for safety, quality, and efficiency. Partner with Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering to support operational excellence and company objectives. ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide overall leadership and direction to the extrusion department, managing multiple production lines and shifts. Establish clear goals, priorities, and expectations that support company objectives. Ensure production targets for output, quality, efficiency, and waste reduction are consistently met or exceeded. Review performance metrics daily and implement corrective actions as needed. Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring adherence to PLASKOLITE’s safety policies and all regulatory standards. Lead safety initiatives, conduct audits, and ensure all incidents and near misses are promptly investigated and resolved. Maintain accountability for product quality by enforcing quality control procedures, reviewing data trends, and collaborating with the Quality department to resolve issues and implement improvements. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve equipment reliability. Lead Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives within the extrusion area. Recruit, train, and develop extrusion supervisors, leads, and operators. Provide mentorship, coaching, and performance feedback to build a high-performing team. Foster a culture of accountability and continuous learning. Manage labor, materials, and equipment resources to optimize department efficiency. Partner with Maintenance and Engineering to ensure equipment uptime and support capital project planning and execution. Work closely with other departments—such as Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, Scheduling, and Supply Chain—to ensure smooth operations and alignment with production requirements. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including throughput, yield, downtime, scrap, and labor utilization. Prepare and present reports to senior management, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Contribute to long-term production strategies, including capacity planning, equipment upgrades, and technology implementation to support growth and efficiency objectives. Model PLASKOLITE’s values and promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and excellence. Encourage employee engagement and recognition while maintaining discipline and performance standards. All other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum 5 years of experience in extrusion manufacturing; 2+ years in a leadership or management role preferred. Strong knowledge of plastic sheet extrusion processes, materials, and equipment. Proven ability to lead, train, and develop high-performing production teams. Demonstrated success in improving safety, quality, and productivity within a manufacturing environment. Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement principles. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to make data-driven decisions. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Commitment to workplace safety, quality standards, and operational excellence.
