Successful applicants will receive all recruitment related correspondence via the email account registered on the application form.Aneurin Bevan University Health Board support flexible working.Please note that this vacancy may be withdrawn at any time should it be filled via the internal redeployment processJob OverviewWe are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Facilities Operative (Retail Assistant) to join our Facilities team at the Royal Gwent Hospital.This is a varied role supporting catering and retail services, ensuring high standards of food service, hygiene, and customer care across the hospital.Come and be part of a supportive team delivering essential services to patients and visitors.There are 3 posts available with the following hours:-Post 1 - 36.5 hours to be worked mornings, days and afternoons over 5 shifts per week.Post 2 11 hours to be worked 14:30 - 20:00 on a Saturday and SundayPost 3: 26 hours to be worked 12:00 - 20:00 & 16:00 - 19:30 over 4 shits per weekCurrently we are unable to provide certificates of sponsorship for this role as it does not meet the Home Office’s criteria. Anyone requiring a certificate of sponsorship is therefore unable to be shortlisted and interviewedMain duties of the jobKey ResponsibilitiesServe meals, snacks, and beverages to patients, staff, and visitors.Prepare basic food items and assist with hospitality functions.Operate tills, handle cash, and complete cashing-up procedures.Replenish vending machines and retail stock, following good stock control practices.Maintain hygiene standards in kitchens, retail areas, and equipment in line with Food Safety and Health Board policies.Assist with deliveries, stock rotation, and storage of goods.Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and staff.
