Facilities Supervisor

Position: Facilities Supervisor Contract: 2-year renewable contract Location: IbadanClosing Date: 25 November 2025DUTIES:Carry out general maintenance of screenhouses and glasshouses to ensure proper functioning and compliance with research requirementsSupervise screenhouse staff, technicians, and casual workers engaged in maintenance and constructionSupervise and coordinate the construction of new screenhouses and related infrastructureConduct repairs, including replacement of roofing glass, nets, and frames; oversee washing, cleaning, and fumigation of screen/glasshousesConduct daily inspections of all screenhouses and glasshouses to identify repair or maintenance needsOversee requisition, collection, and proper utilization of materials for screenhouse construction and repairs, ensuring accountabilityMaintain accurate daily reports on maintenance, construction, and operational activitiesEnsure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards during construction and maintenance workSupport cost-recovery planning by tracking labor, materials, and maintenance costs for proper budgeting and reportingPerform any other job-related tasks as may be assigned by the supervisorRequirementsQUALIFICATION:HND/BSc in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Building Technology or any other related course. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of Two (2) years' experience in performing similar role in a well-structured environment.Professional certification/ Training in Health Safety & Environment (HS&E) or risk management is desirable.COMPETENCIES: The ideal candidate must:Possess strong technical knowledge of screenhouse/glasshouse maintenance and repairBe able to read and interpret construction drawings and technical manualsBe skilled in cost tracking, reporting, and documentationHave training in project or construction supervisionDemonstrate knowledge of automated screenhouse systems (e.g., temperature, humidity, and irrigation controls)Have experience in research farm infrastructure or controlled environment agricultureBe proficient in using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skillsHave experience working with ERP or facility management softwareBenefitsREMUNERATION: We offer highly competitive salary with equally attractive benefits and excellent working conditions in a pleasant campus environment.
