Position Type:DISTRICT SUPPORT/LIAISONDate Posted:9/9/2025Location:Student EngagementClosing Date:10/17/2025POSITION SUMMARYThe Family Engagement Liaison works in the Office of Family Engagement and serves as a connector who provides support between Title I and Non-title schools, families, and district departments. The liaison's primary focus is to fulfill the district's vision as it relates to engaging families, improving student academic outcomes, and building community trust by implementing district family engagement strategies. This position also assists in planning, development, and providing strategic direction to Title I and non-Title school-based family engagement leadership teams and parent liaisons. This position also offers professional development for family, parent liaison and other staff in implementation and best practices in family engagement. Provides and serves as a resource connection in maintaining an organized and wide range of cluster community-based resources to support families and schools. The incumbent will also provide support to Title and/or Non-Title parent liaisons via school visits that include resource strategies for parent centers and support school family engagement activities.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEDUCATION:Bachelor's degree in education or related fieldCERTIFICATION/LICENSE:Valid driver's license and availability of private transportation requiredWORK EXPERIENCE:3 years of work experience in an educational, social service, community engagement or related field.Experience working with families that have diverse cultures and economic backgrounds.Bilingual is a plus.ESSENTIAL DUTIESServes in a consultant role in providing and offering recommendations and resources to support family engagement strategies with school-based Family Engagement Leadership Teams (FELT)Supports the efforts and implementation of the Family Engagement School Choice modelsResearches family engagement best practices and stays abreast of current trendsServes as the liaison to parent organizations such as the Atlanta Council of PTAs and Neighborhood Planning Units (NPU's)Collaborates and works cross functionally with district departments to support school level family engagementPlans and facilitates cluster-based family engagement professional learnings and workshops for parents, district, and school-based staffProvides technical assistance to families and schools on resource matchingUpdates and distributes cluster resource guides to schoolsProvides expertise to all schools in the design and maintenance of school campus parent centersRequired to have prompt, regular attendance in-person and be available to work on-site, in-person during regular business hours and as needed.Performs other duties as assigned by an appropriate administrator or their representative.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to make recommendations on various topics, details, controversial, simple or complexAbility to engage a variety of stakeholdersAbility to work independently and in collaboration with other teamsPossesses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create productive and healthy relationshipsAbility to demonstrate knowledge of data collection and interpretation of the resultsSkills in providing professional development and coaching with staff members on strategies, interventions, and data collection methodsDemonstrates strong organizational skills with outstanding attention to detailProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.,) and Google platformPHYSICAL ABILITIES AND WORKING CONDITIONSThe physical abilities, working conditions and other conditions of employment listed in this document are representative of, but are not intended to provide an exhaustive list of the requirements for positions in this classification.
