Our core business is to work on the ground to build bridges into space, contributing to the success of ambitious missions.The European Space Agency is our biggest client and we provide highly qualified employees to many sites of ESA but mainly for ESTEC in the Netherlands, and we provide a permanent contract with great benefits, a good salary, a relocation package along with genuine support to our employees.On behalf of the European Space Agency, we are looking for a highly skilled FDIR Support to Projects Engineer to work in ESTEC, in the Netherlands.Candidates must be eligible for a security personal clearance from an EU Member State national security administrationWhat is expected from you:Support the inclusion and traceability of FDIR aspects across all system elements and throughout all project lifecycle phases.Support ESA project teams in the preparation, review, and consolidation of FDIR documentation for all mission phases, ensuring consistency with internal processes and engineering standards.Contribute to the definition and refinement of the FDIR concept in alignment with the overall system design and engineering constraints within projects.Assist in applying a rigorous and traceable engineering process for demonstrating the adequacy and fitness-for-purpose of FDIR solutions within projects.Support the collection, organisation, verification, and dissemination of FDIR related information within the project team and to ensure consistency across design artefacts.Provide technical support to the project team in internal discussions regarding the identification of residual risks and the evaluation of FDIR strategies.Support the collection and analysis of operational data and lessons learned from missions, contributing to the continuous improvement of FDIR concepts, methods, and documentation for future projects.Contribute to FDIR-related activities within the Concurrent Design Facility (CDF), including the preparation of technical inputs and participation in internal sessions.Assist in the development, review, and maintenance of FDIR-related internal standards, guidelines, and best practices.Support the maintenance and regular update of the ESA FDIR Handbook, including the collection, documentation, and integration of lessons learned and current engineering practices to promote reuse and continuous improvement.Assist with internal R&D activities focused on advancing FDIR methodologies, tools, and techniques, including the exploration and integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital twin technologies.Assist in the preparation and delivery of internal FDIR training materials, presentations, and documentation.Support the activities of the FDIR Competence Centre in terms knowledge consolidation, tool harmonisation, and internal process alignment.Assist in the identification and promotion of synergies across projects in order to strengthen FDIR engineering practices within the ESA directorates.What you offer :Master's degree in Physics or Engineering.Specific experience in Assembly, Integration, Verification and Testing of complex space systems in the thermo-mechanical and/or electrical functional domains, including active participation to Projects assembly, integration and testing phasesExperience in supporting the organisation of satellite-related industrial activities, including schedule assessment and risk monitoringHands-on experience with satellite-related flight and ground hardware.What we offer:A competitive salary30 days of paid annual leave, plus the days ESTEC is closed including public holidays (~12 days) based on a 40-hour working week;Hybrid working scheme (3 days in the office and 2 days remote in the Netherlands)Flexible working hours; you are in charge of your own agenda respecting core working hoursFully paid collective extensive health insurance scheme;A good pension scheme with no personal contribution;A career development (Coursera membership + training budget);Travel allowance;Extensive relocation packageWhere:You will be working within ESTEC, the European Space Agency’s offices in the Netherlands as a contractor for Telespazio Belgium.
