Job Description

Local female aged care & disability support worker (casual) wanted for Nowra & surrounding suburbs, for IMMEDIATE START.The candidate will commence with the following small trial in October/November, then have the option of building their own client-base after the trial.There is also lots of planned current staff leave for November & December.MonsThe October/November trial hours will be (or similar to):830-1030-Bomarrry-Aged Care-Personal care w/ hoist transfers11.00-1.00-Shoalhaven Heads-Aged Care-Personal CareTues10.30-12.30 – Shoalhaven Heads-Aged Care-Social support1.00-4.00 – Nowra – NDIS – Social support (TBC)Weds10.00-2.00 – Nowra – NDIS – Social supportThus10.30-12.30 – Shoalhaven Heads – Aged Care – Social support2.00-4.00 – Nowra – NDIS – Social support4.20-8.00 – Nowra – NDIS – Social supportAlternate Saturdays10.00-1.00 – Nowra – NDIS – Social supportThe successful candidate will also have the option of commencing a small amount of regular client supports in the mean-time, to help get them adjust to working within our friendly team.Local registered provider, currently expanding, with local management & local clients.Increased hours: The successful support worker will have the option of building their client-base as more clients/participants onboard.We have one position available.Experience with use of hoists and other manual handling equipment is highly regarded. Training is also provided with the support worker & client.Experience with supporting clients/participants who live with mental illnesses is highly regarded.Experience with supporting participants who live with complex behaviours is highly regarded.Current certificate 3 or 4 in aged acre or disability is highly regarded.Current NDIS worker screening check, working with children's check, criminal history check, CPR and first aid will be required as mandatory documents prior to interview.The successful candidate mustbe prepared to commence with available support hours, and will have the option to build their client-base as more clients/participants are onboarded.The successful candidate must have their own reliable vehicle & valid NSW driver's license.The successful candidate must be prepared to help with covering leave from other staff, from time-to-time.The successful candidate must be prepared to travel to areas such as St Georges Basin/Vincentia if required.The successful candidate will commence within the next 2-3 weeks (by early November).All support workers are paid via the SCHADS Award.About UsWe are an ethical and fast growing provider of NDIS and Aged Care services across the scenic South Coast, extending from North Nowra/Bomaderry to Lake Tabourie, covering the beautiful Shoalhaven region.We are seeking Casual Support Workers to assist with the provision of high-quality exceptional care to a range of fantastic clients and participants in various towns within the Shoalhaven.Our Support Workers are home-based and utilise a mobile work model (with electronic support for administration), attracting a travel reimbursement and ongoing training opportunities, appropriate to client need.There is scope for our support staff to work specifically with NDIS participants, Aged Care clients or a mix of both.All Support Workers are paid according to the SCHADS award and have the ability to build their personal client-base according to what their own circumstances/priorities.Main responsibilities and activities may include (support worker MUST be prepared to complete tasks below if required):Assistance with care in the home (bathing, toileting, mobility)Getting out for social engagement, activities and attending appointments (own vehicle essential)Assistance with household tasks (may include cleaning, meal preparation, laundry)Assistance with medicationsLight administrative duties (record maintenance, reporting)Job Type: CasualPay: $35.00 – $45.00 per hourApplication Question(s)Do you reside within 30 minutes of the 2541 post code?Are you prepared to commence with some available support hours and build your client-base once new clients/participants are onboarded?Are you prepared to complete all potential tasks as outlined in the job description?Do you have any restrictions to clients/participants that you can potentially support?Are you prepared to fill in for other support workers from time-to-time when they are unavailable?Do you have professional experience working with Aged Care/NDIS clients/participants?Are you prepared to travel up to 40 minutes to support a client/participant (our minimum support times are 2 hours per shift)?Do you have current: CPR, First Aid, Drivers license, 100 points of I.D, working with children's check, criminal history check & current NDIS worker screening check?Do you have (and are you able to evidence) qualifications that are relevant to this role?Do you have your own reliable and insured transport?Work AuthorisationAustralia (Required)Work Location: In person
