This is a senior technical leadership role ensuring compliance with stringent regulatory and safety standards across a multi-million-dollar fabrication effort. Regulatory Leadership: Own quality assurance for a high-stakes fabrication project subject to rigorous safety and containment standards. Technical Authority: Serve as the primary quality representative, reporting to the VP of Quality and collaborating with engineering, procurement, and project teams. Process Ownership:
Develop and implement project-specific quality plans, inspection programs, and corrective-action processes. Cross-Functional Impact: Lead and mentor QA/QC personnel and subcontractor teams to uphold best practices in welding, material traceability, leak testing, and assembly verification. What will your day look like?Lead quality assurance activities from planning through final acceptance and turnover. Manage subcontractor qualifications, audits, and source inspections for critical fabrication stages. Oversee nonconformance evaluations, root-cause analyses, and corrective actions. Interface with project management to balance technical, schedule, and quality priorities. Prepare and maintain compliant QA documentation and data packages for customer and regulatory review.
Present quality status and improvement recommendations in management review meetings. Who are you?Seasoned Quality Professional: 7+ years of QA/QC experience in highly regulated fabrication or construction environments. Standards Expert: Working knowledge of quality systems and performance standards under stringent safety regulations. Technical Communicator: Able to influence cross-functional teams and escalate issues diplomatically. Process-Driven Leader: Skilled in inspection planning, supplier oversight, and integrity testing (leak, airflow, welding). Tool Proficient: Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills; experience with document control and reporting software. Certified Inspector: AWS Certified Welding Inspector required; additional non-destructive testing or project management credentials preferred. Education Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related discipline preferred; Associate’s degree with extensive field experience considered.
