Work ScheduleStandard (Mon-Fri)Environmental ConditionsLaboratory Setting, Office, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)The roleJoin us as a Field Application Scientist (FAS) and assist us in our mission to become the world leader in serving science. This dynamic position involves providing scientific training, guidance, application support and troubleshooting. At the center are our sequencing portfolio with Ion Torrent and Applied Biosystems Next Generation Sequencing and Sanger Sequencing instrumentation and applications.This is a field-based role, involving extensive travel across Switzerland. Occasional support needs to be provided to customers in Germany, Austria and V4 countries. When not travelling we are working from home. In doing so, we will help to increase customer satisfaction and build loyalty and contribute the overall success of the business.Deliver on-site and remote scientific application support to our customers on our NGS and CE products.Perform product demonstrations and training at customer or company sitesDiagnose & resolve product performance problems and customer queries/complaintsWork with sales representatives on sales calls to customer laboratories to provide technical and applications assistance in response to customer inquiriesAssist the regional sales team in the development of accounts by giving technical seminars and presentations that promote the use of our productsMaintain up-to-date technical expertise and in-depth knowledge of our product portfolio and scientific developments in NGS, CE and related subjectsBuild trust with our customers and excel in customer serviceHow will you get here?EducationDegree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or similar (Masters or PhD preferred)ExperienceSeveral years’ molecular biology laboratory experienceHands-on experience with NGS and/or CEBioinformatics experience highly encouragedExperience in communicating technical materials in written and verbal formKnowledge, Skills, AbilitiesCustomer-facing experience, with the emotional intelligence to understand customer concernsAble to connect with and support people optimally with varying levels of technical knowledge and expertiseGood computer and/or IT skills and have an interest for groundbreaking technologyWillingness to travel extensively (up to 50% weekly), including frequent overnightsProficient in German and EnglishDriving licence
