Field Engineer

Primary Objective Of JobField Engineer is responsible for the operation and maintenance of Digicel’s cellular sites to ensure 100% availability and quality service.Main Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerform hardware and software installation / upgrades on Telco and related power systemsRespond to emergencies and potential failures on the networkCreate and maintain network documentation.Perform reactive and proactive maintenance on All Telco EquipmentPrepare report on outages and maintenance for cellular sites and related nodesAny other related duties assignedAcademic Qualifications And Experience RequiredDiploma/Degree in Electrical/ Electronic/ Telecommunications Engineering (GTI or UG)Minimum of 5 years’ experience in one or more of the fields listed below:- Operation and Maintenance of A.C and D.C power Systems Operations and maintenance of cellular transmission systems Operation and Maintenance of BTS/Node B equipment.Functional SkillsApplicants are required to be computer literate – proficient in Microsoft office and internet savvyApplicants must be familiar with networking concepts – including IP addressing, VLANs, Ethernet and RoutingMust be familiar with Radio Frequency Spectrum, radio transceivers, antenna and feeder systemsApplicants must have knowledge of electrical power systems – including A.C and D.C generation/distribution.Ability to acquire knowledge at a fast pace and troubleshoot problems on the spot using technical manuals and documentation.Must be a licensed driver with ability to drive manual transmission vehiclesMust be willing to work flexible hours and weekendsCandidate must reside in Guyana.
