Please visit www.exceedsafety.com for more information on our services.This role is a full-time, permanent role for a steel erection company located in Sebring, FL.Function:The Field Safety Professional inspects client work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with company, state, and federal safety policies and regulations. Responsibilities also include documenting safety inspections, citing dangerous areas/procedures and recommending corrective procedures, and maintaining safety equipment supply and availability.The person in this role should demonstrate a strong vision for safety and proactively work toward creating a safety culture. This role reports to the Safety Director.Responsibilities:Ensure field safety compliance with all labor safety policiesResponsible for county, state, and federal DOT compliance requirementsEnhances job knowledge by participating in educational training sessionsInspect working conditions to ensure compliance with occupational safety and health regulationsPerform safety audits, job hazard analysis and incident investigationsAssist in the development and implementation of plans, policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure safety programs are aligned with company and site goalsAssist with the investigation process to ensure thorough investigations, provide resolutions, and issue reportsCollaborate with managers to monitor compliance and identify safety issuesIntervene in unsafe activities or operationsCompetencies:Bilingual (Spanish/English)Ethical ConductFlexibilityInitiativeHigh school diploma or equivalentExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsComputer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft OfficeValid driver’s licenseDemonstrates a flexible, positive ‘can do’ approach to delivering team resultsPreferred:Prefer Associate Degree in Occupational, Health & Safety sciences or minimum of 1 years’ experience in an Environmental, Health and Safety position; Technical writing a plusStrong time management, organizational skills, and strong attention to detailAbility to anticipate needs, be resourceful and use sound judgment and tactSupervisory Responsibility:This position has no supervisory responsibilities.Work Environment:Work is conducted in both indoor office settings, and outdoor jobsite settings. Environmental conditions will vary.Physical Demands:The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, climb, type, carry up to 40 lbs, pushing and bending. May be required to occasionally work at heights and in confined space.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Position Type & Expected Hours of Work:This is a full-time position.
