Job Description

Field Service Engineer (FSE) Responsible for providing on-site support, maintenance, and repair services for the multi-disciplinary, high-accuracy ultrasound scanners provided by ScanMaster worldwide.Key Responsibilities and DutiesInstallation and Commissioning: Traveling to customer sites to install, configure, calibrate, and test new or existing equipment and systems, ensuring they operate correctly and setup.Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical, electrical, or software issues with existing equipment, in response to service calls. This involves using specialized tools and interpreting technical schematics.Preventive Maintenance: Performing scheduled maintenance, inspections, and upgrades to ensure long-term reliability and prevent future malfunctions.Technical Support and Training: Providing customers with technical guidance, answering product-related questions, and training end-users (and/or agents) on the proper operation and basic maintenance of the equipment.Mechanical Geometrical Measurements: Performing mechanical geometrical measurements on UT systems includes 3D laser & correction table implementation, or with Granit using a dial indicator.UT Electronic Calibration: Performing Electronic (RF Amplitude and Signal) Measurements on the company UT equipment, the UPR/RPP, using Scoop Analyser, Signal Generator & Attenuator.Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining detailed records of all service activities, including repairs performed (Service Calls), parts consumed, time spent, and system performance.Customer Communication: Acting as a primary technical point of contact, communicating effectively with customers regarding service status, technical issues, recommendations, and billing.Required Skills and Qualifications:Technical SkillsEducation: BSc in engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or related field), Practical engineer, or a relevant associate’s degree/vocational certificate.Technical Aptitude: Experienced in working with multi-disciplinary systems, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems, circuitry, and software/PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), MS Office, and CAD tools.Diagnostics: Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics to diagnose complex problems remotely and on-site.           Soft SkillsCommunication: Fluently able to communicate in English both in writing and discussion. Additional languages are an advantage.Customer Service: Excellent interpersonal skills for working directly with clients/agents and representing the company professionally. The role includes face-to-face interactions as well as email and phone communication.Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve issues quickly and effectively under pressure.Autonomy: Ability to work independently, organize travel schedules and service assignments, and manage time efficiently.Adaptability: Willingness to travel frequently (locally or internationally, 1-2 weeks per month) and work in various environments, sometimes during flexible or non-standard hours.
