Field Services Engineer

Job Summary:The Field Services Engineer is responsible for providing onsite technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and other end-user devices. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, coordinating with remote teams for escalations, and ensuring minimal downtime for end users. The position requires strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently at client locations.Key Responsibilities:Provide onsite installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktops, laptops, and peripherals.Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.Perform system upgrades, patch updates, and preventive maintenance.Support end users with standard applications (Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.).Escalate unresolved issues to Level 2/3 teams as needed.Maintain accurate records of service requests, incidents, and asset inventory.Coordinate with vendors for hardware replacement or warranty support.Ensure compliance with IT policies, security standards, and change management processes.Required Skills and Experience:1–3 years of experience in IT Field Support or Desktop Support.Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Active Directory, and Office 365.Basic understanding of networking (LAN/WAN, IP configuration, VPN).Hands-on experience with imaging tools (SCCM, MDT, etc.) preferred.Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Good communication and customer handling skills.Ability to travel to various client sites as required.Education and Certifications:Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft MCP are an advantage.
