Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW:The Final Controller is responsible for performing the final quality control inspection of all vehicles before they are returned to customers after service or repair. The job ensures that all work has been completed according to Mercedes-Benz standards and that every vehicle meets the highest levels of safety, performance, cleanliness, and workmanshipKEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Conduct comprehensive visual and functional inspections of all completed service and repair jobs before vehicle release.Verify that all reported concerns and job card items have been addressed and resolved satisfactorily.Ensure vehicle cleanliness (interior and exterior) is up to standard prior to delivery.Confirm all job cards and associated documentation are correctly filled, signed, and attached in accordance with workshop standards. Report discrepancies, incomplete work, or issues to the Workshop Controller or Supervisor for immediate rectification.Validate that all service indicators, warning lights, and error codes have been cleared post-repair.Conduct post-repair road tests to verify the functionality and performance of the vehicle, especially after major repairs or safety-related jobs.Document observations and escalate any abnormalities or issues identified during the test drive.Ensure all final inspections are carried out in line with Mercedes-Benz service protocols, safety regulations, and quality assurance procedures.Monitor and report non-conformance issues, recurring faults, or workmanship concerns for continuous improvement.Act as the gatekeeper of quality to help ensure customers receive vehicles in optimal condition, contributing to first-time fix success and customer satisfaction.Work closely with service advisors to resolve any post-service quality questions prior to handover.Collaborate with Workshop Controllers, Technicians, and Service Advisors to close quality control loops.Maintain a log of inspections, issues found, and actions taken to support process improvement.Uphold company values throughout business practices and utilise sound judgment in decision making.Any other additional duties as may be required by management based on needs of the business. POSITION REQUIREMENTS WORK EXPERIENCEMinimum 1–3 years of experience in an automotive technical or inspection role.Prior experience in a luxury brand service centre, particularly Mercedes-Benz, is a significant advantage. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONDiploma or technical certification in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related automotive qualification. Mercedes-Benz technical certification is preferred. SKILLS/BEHAVIOUR ATTRIBUTESIn-depth understanding of automotive systems, diagnostics, and quality inspection practices. Familiarity with Dealer Management Systems (DMS), diagnostic tools, and repair documentation.Strong knowledge of vehicle safety features, repair protocols, and technical standards.High attention to detail and accuracy. Objective, methodical, and patient with a commitment to quality. Excellent observational and diagnostic abilities.Strong verbal and written communication skills. Professionalism, integrity, and a customer-first mindset.
