Planet A is looking for a Finance Assistant based in Berlin or remote within Europe. We offer this position in either full-time or part-time capacity.Planet A Ventures is a European early-stage fund supporting founders tackling our greatest systemic challenges. The fund uses rigorous scientific impact assessments to identify solutions the world cannot afford to ignore. Investments include INERATEC, Makersite, C1, HIVED, traceless materials and 44.01. As a small team with flat hierarchies, we live by our core values: excellency, transparency, trust, humbleness, conviction, and respect.As our Finance Assistant, you would have the opportunity to improve and optimise our existing finance processes while laying the foundation for Planet A’s finance operations for our upcoming and exciting milestones. You will be heavily involved in the auditing of further fund generations from the get-go of a purpose-driven fund.TasksDay-to-day financial tasks, including executing payments, creating invoices, and expense controlCash management, budgeting, and forecastingPrepare financial reporting to investors, governmental regulatory bodies, tax authorities, auditors, corporate partners, and other stakeholdersLead efforts to streamline financial tools and ensure data integrityCreation and analysis of monthly management accounts for the operating company and Planet A VC funds, ensuring that reporting complies with accounting standards at all timesWork closely with auditors and manage the annual audit process for the operating company as well as the fundsWork closely with our fund administrator in regards to fund accounting and investor capital accounts, preparation and execution of capital drawdowns, capital distributions, and general investor relations activitiesSupport financial reporting, regulatory compliance tasks (including AML/KYC), tax, and ESG reportingImprove and maintain Planet A’s Finance, Control, and Reporting functionsRequirementsYou have a bachelor's or master's degree in Finance, Accounting or a similar field.You have already gained first professional experience in Finance. Familiarity with Fund or Asset Management is of great advantage.You are a self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage tasks in a structured and organised manner.You are communicative, collaborative, open-minded, and not afraid to take responsibility.You bring initial experience in applying AI tools and curiosity to explore new ways of integrating those in day-to-day workflows and processes.You have worked with Google Suite and/or MS-Office applications, esp.
