Our vision is for all homes and buildings in Aotearoa to be green and sustainable, creating happier and healthier environments for everyone. The Opportunity We’re seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Coordinator to join our close-knit team in Auckland. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you’ll play a key role in supporting NZGBC’s financial operations, from accounts payable and receivable to payroll processing, reconciliations, GST returns, and audit preparation. This is a hands-on, varied role where accuracy, collaboration, and initiative are highly valued. About You You’re an energetic multitasker with great attention to detail and a genuine interest in supporting sustainability-focused work. You will be tech savvy and comfortable balancing accuracy with efficiency and enjoy contributing to a small, values-driven team. What You’ll Do Process and reconcile accounts payable, receivable, and credit card transactions. Manage daily bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records in Xero. Prepare bi-monthly GST returns and support the annual audit process. Process fortnightly payroll in Smartly, including deductions and termination pays. Support event and education budget reconciliations. Working on statement of service performance. Following up on aged receivables Collaborate with internal teams to streamline financial systems and reporting. You’ll bring: At least 2 years’ experience in an accounting or finance support role. Strong skills in Xero and Microsoft Excel (HubSpot experience an advantage). Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and communication skills. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively. A shared passion for NZGBC’s vision and values. Why Join Us? Be part of a purpose-led organisation driving environmental change in Aotearoa. Enjoy a hybrid working model based in Auckland’s CBD (Queen Street). Work with a passionate, supportive, and collaborative team.
