Finance DirectorLocation: BerlinReporting to: CEOOverviewA private equity–backed platform is seeking a high-calibre Finance Director to lead and develop its financial function as the organisation continues to expand across Europe.The Finance Director will act as the CEO’s key financial partner, owning day-to-day financial management, strategic planning, and operational finance. This role will play a critical part in professionalising processes, strengthening governance, and ensuring high-quality financial insight to support growth and value creation.This is a hands-on, impactful leadership role suited to a seasoned finance professional with strong technical expertise, commercial judgment, and the ability to scale finance operations in a fast-growing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Leadership & StrategyPartner directly with the CEO to shape the organisation’s financial strategy and support execution of the growth agenda.Lead budgeting, forecasting, planning, and performance management across the group.Deliver high-quality financial insight, reporting, and analysis to support decision-making.Prepare financial presentations, board materials, and investment cases.Capital Management & Funding SupportSupport equity and debt financing activities, including materials preparation, analysis, and stakeholder engagement.Manage relationships with lenders, banks, and financial institutions.Oversee cashflow, liquidity planning, and optimal utilisation of capital.Support financial due diligence and modelling for M&A or strategic transactions.Financial Operations & ControlsBuild and maintain a strong financial control environment across multiple jurisdictions.Oversee accounting, tax, treasury, audit, and reporting activities.Implement scalable processes, systems, and tools to improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.Drive the professionalisation of finance operations in line with investor expectations.Business Performance & Operational ImprovementMonitor financial and operational KPIs across business units and subsidiaries.Lead initiatives to improve profitability, working capital, and cost efficiency.Support integration, restructuring, and transformation programmes as the organisation evolves.Ensure high standards of governance and adherence to regulatory and reporting requirements.Cross-Functional Collaboration & LeadershipWork closely with commercial, operational, and corporate development teams on business cases, pricing, and strategic initiatives.Support negotiations for partnerships, commercial agreements, and acquisitions.Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.Candidate ProfileExperience & Skills10–15 years of experience in corporate finance, financial leadership, or senior finance roles.Proven track record as a Finance Director, Head of Finance, or senior finance manager in a fast-growing or complex organisation.Strong expertise in financial planning, modelling, reporting, and capital management.Experience supporting capital raising processes and managing investor or lender relationships.Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing finance teams.Strong communication, analytical thinking, and commercial decision-making abilities.
