Job Description

RoleOur client is seeking an experienced Finance Director to lead and oversee the finance function across the Middle East. Reporting directly in to the Group Chief Financial Officer and indirectly to the Managing Director for the region. The role is responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting commercial decision-making, maintaining strong governance, and ensuring full compliance with regional regulatory requirements. This includes effective leadership of the finance, legal, and administrative teams, as well as close partnership with senior management to drive operational and financial performance.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure accurate monthly reporting, forecasting, and commentary in line with group deadlines and local GAAP.Lead IFRS-based monthly reporting, delivering clear analysis and actionable insights to optimise financial performance.Oversee month-end close, accounting system processes, and data submission to the global reporting platform.Provide timely monthly results, analysis, and updates to regional and corporate leadership.Produce current cash flow forecasts for the region and manage cash positions to maximise liquidity.Prepare statutory accounts and manage all external audits to successful completion.Ensure full compliance with accounting standards and group financial policies.Maintain a strong internal control framework and drive continuous process improvements.Partner with senior leadership on client deal structures, project budgeting, commercial terms, and compliance.Monitor project financials to ensure profitability against planned budgets.Strengthen the order-to-cash cycle through timely invoicing, collections, and escalation of overdue debt.Oversee project setup, lifecycle monitoring, and reporting of key project KPIs.Ensure accurate revenue recognition aligned with contracts, budgets, and forecasts.Review and manage intercompany agreements, billing, and settlements.Work closely with the Managing Director on day-to-day operational management.Advise regional leaders on contracting, commercial terms, client risk, and staffing considerations.Serve as a member of the Management Team, contributing to strategic and operational decisions.Support annual budgeting, planning, and financial processes.Manage relationships with banks, auditors, tax authorities, and legal advisors.Handle local and global ad-hoc reporting requests.Manage regional tax submissions and compliance obligations across multiple jurisdictions.Oversee regulatory, legal, and corporate compliance requirements.Maintain internal policies, procedures, and financial controls in line with group standards.Identify and escalate potential risks, ensuring proactive mitigation measures are in place.Lead, mentor, and develop finance and legal teams, driving capability and performance.Support the rollout of global finance initiatives at regional level.Partner with the Managing Director to drive profitable growth and operational excellence.CandidateDegree in Finance or Accounting, plus a recognised professional accounting qualification.Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience, ideally within consulting or professional services.Strong expertise in accounting, audit, tax, treasury, and internal control frameworks.Solid knowledge of IFRS, particularly revenue recognition.Experience working within multinational environments.Deep understanding of GCC business culture, legal frameworks, and tax systems.Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.Strong problem-solving skills and sound commercial judgement.Good understanding of commercial and corporate legal matters.
