The business model combines subscription revenue with a financial service marketplace revenue, for loans, credit cards, and credit building tools.Bright has launched an AI money assistant and AI agentic UX flows for access to credit. It will be the first AI-driven Consumer FinTech for middle-income consumers.The Bright product suite has potential for global markets beyond the US. The market size is 100M global middle-income consumers, with a revenue pool opportunity of $15B.Bright is backed by 3 top global venture capital firms, and leading tech angel investors in the USA, Europe, and Asia.Bright was founded in 2019 by a founding team from McKinsey’s Banking Practice (Petko Plachkov and Avi Patchava)and InMobi Data Scientists (Varun Modi and Avi Patchava). The core team is ex-InMobi Engineering and Data Sciences, recently joined by senior leaders from McKinsey. Bright is a data-driven, fast-paced execution culture that will build a Global Consumer FinTech, all functions operating from India.About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead our financial operations and strategy in a fast-paced fintech environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), compliance, and business partnering, with a hands-on approach to managing the finance function of a growing organization.Key Responsibilities1. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)Drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to support strategic decision-making.Prepare monthly MIS reports, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions.Partner with business teams to assess ROI on new initiatives and optimize unit economics.2. Accounting & ComplianceOversee end-to-end accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to Ind AS, US GAAP, and IFRS standards.Own the month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, provisions, and accruals, ensuring integrity of the general ledger and financial statements.Drive the function by, implementing and monitoring internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) and ensuring full audit-readiness where applicable.Lead and coordinate statutory, internal, and tax audits, ensuring zero non-compliance and timely resolution of audit observations.Ensure compliance with all direct and indirect tax obligations (GST, TDS, Income Tax, FEMA, etc.) and maintain up-to-date regulatory documentation.3. Cash Flow & Treasury ManagementManage working capital efficiently, monitor cash flow, and ensure optimal fund utilization.Liaise with banks, NBFCs, and investors for treasury operations and fund management4. Strategic & Investor SupportSupport fundraising activities, investor due diligence, and capital structuring initiatives.Prepare board-level presentations, investor reports, & financial performance summaries highlighting key business metrics and growth levers.Provide strategic financial insights to the leadership team, contributing to cost optimization and business scalability initiatives..5. Systems, Controls & AutomationDesign, implement, and continuously improve internal financial controls, SOPs, and governance frameworks across all finance functions.Drive ERP and automation initiatives to streamline reporting, reconciliations, and compliance workflows.Collaborate with product and technology teams to ensure accurate financial data integration within the fintech platform.Champion the adoption of data analytics, business intelligence tools, and automated dashboards for real-time financial monitoring.RequirementsChartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory..5–8 years of post qualification experience in accounting, or finance leadership roles within fintech, NBFC, digital lending, or financial services.Comprehensive understanding of Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS), US GAAP, and IFRS.Proven experience in financial statement consolidation, audit management, and compliance & regulatory reporting.Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, MS Excel, and accounting/ERP tools such as Tally ERP, QuickBooks & payroll tools like graytHR, Gusto.Exposure to automation tools, data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), and API-based financial integrations is a strong advantage.Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
