ABOUT THE ROLEA unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and motivated Finance Manager to join our Operations Department.The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the Club’s financial accounting environment. This is a pivotal leadership role overseeing the finance team and ensuring the integrity of the Club’s financial operations, from general ledger management and payroll through to cashflow forecasting, statutory compliance, and year-end reporting.This is a permeant, full-time position, commencing in February of 2026.KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the key areas of responsibilities will include:Overseeing and ensuring the general ledger is maintained in a timely and accurate manner Overseeing the payroll functionOverseeing key football finance requirements, including Total Player Payments forecasts and compliance and Soft Cap forecasts and complianceCost centre management and business partnering for football department, operationsIn conjunction with the Business Performance Manager, preparing Quarterly Reforecast and annual Budget pack for the Board. Ensuring the club has accurate 90-day cashflow forecasts, and that any cashflow risks are identified early to ensure mitigation strategies can be executedManaging the year end process, including liaising with auditors and managing the preparation of the Annual ReportEnsuring the club’s statutory obligations (e.g. FBT, payroll tax etc) are metCompleting key AFL compliance obligationsLead and oversee the finance teamTHE IDEAL CANDIDATEYou are a financial professional with a tertiary degree in Commerce, Accounting or a related discipline, with a CPA or CA Accreditation. You are also someone who has 5+ years' experience as a senior financial manager, with a experience in managing a team. You will bring strong technical expertise across financial accounting, reporting, and compliance, with proven experience using accounting software such as Microsoft Dynamics D365. You are proficient in Excel and PowerPoint, along with sound knowledge of accounting standards, tax legislation, and analytical reporting. Experience with CRM systems will be highly regarded, as will the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate insights effectively.Beyond technical ability, you are highly organised and a proactive team leader who thrives in a collaborative environment. You will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, the capacity to meet deadlines under pressure, and a commitment to supporting and developing a team.
