Job PurposeTo oversee and manage the accounting and financial operations of the company in Tanzania, ensuring compliance with IFRS, Tanzanian regulations, and company policies. The role involves timely financial reporting, tax compliance, cash flow management, and supporting audits and budgeting activities.Key Responsibilities Financial Accounting & Reporting Maintain accurate and up-to-date books of accounts (GL, AP, AR, Bank Reconciliations) in line with IFRS and local GAAP. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports. Ensure timely month-end closures, posting of journal entries, and handling of accruals and provisions. Taxation & Compliance Ensure accurate and timely filing/payment of all statutory dues including VAT, Withholding Tax, PAYE, SDL, and other local taxes. Liaise with the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), auditors, and other regulatory bodies for compliance matters. Maintain proper documentation and ensure adherence to all Tanzanian tax and financial regulations. Payables & Receivables ManagementSupervise vendor payments and monitor receivables collections.Prepare and review ageing analysis for payables and receivables.Perform vendor and customer reconciliations regularly. Treasury & Cash Flow ManagementMonitor daily cash and bank balances and prepare cash flow forecasts.Coordinate with banks for transactions, Letters of Credit (LCs), and foreign exchange management.Support budgeting and cost control initiatives. Inventory & Asset AccountingReconcile inventory records in coordination with the stores and operations teams.Maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring timely capitalization and depreciation. Internal Controls & Audit SupportEnsure strict adherence to internal control systems and company policies.Coordinate with internal and external auditors for timely completion of audits.Implement audit recommendations and process improvements.EducationChartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.CPA (Tanzania) / ACCA certification is an added advantage.Experience8-15 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance, preferably in Tanzania or East Africa.Strong experience in financial reporting, taxation, and audit coordination.Proficiency in accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar ERP systems.SkillsIn-depth knowledge of Tanzanian tax laws, TRA compliance, and financial regulations.Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and financial reporting tools.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
