Finance Manager — WasteHero (Aarhus)

We work closely with municipalities and cities across Europe to help optimize resource use, enable sustainable urban development, and improve service quality for millions of citizens.The RoleWe are seeking an analytical and proactive finance professional to take ownership of WasteHero’s finance function. You will work closely with the leadership team and play a central role in the company’s continued growth and scaling.The role combines hands-on responsibility for accounting and financial operations with strategic business support. You will manage day-to-day bookkeeping, reporting, and compliance, while also supporting decision-making with data-driven financial insights.You will take over from external providers and establish WasteHero’s internal financial processes, ensuring structure, transparency, and control. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building from the ground up and wants a role with genuine influence on company performance.Key ResponsibilitiesFinance & AccountingManage daily bookkeeping and financial operations (via e-conomic)Handle monthly closings, bank reconciliations, VAT, and tax submissionsCoordinate with external auditor and prepare annual accountsOversee systems including Pleo, Corpay, and related finance toolsBusiness Analysis & ControllingConduct financial analyses of tenders, customer proposals, and pricing modelsDevelop business cases and profitability analyses for projects and clientsTrack and evaluate the financial performance of key projects and initiativesReporting & StrategyPrepare management and board reportsSupport financial planning and KPI developmentContribute to pricing evaluations and overall financial strategyAbout You4–8 years of experience in finance, accounting, or controllingStrong analytical mindset and understanding of business driversExperienced user of e-conomic, Pleo, Excel, and preferably Power BISelf-driven and structured with a focus on execution and qualityComfortable collaborating closely with leadership and challenging with dataFluent in Danish and English, both written and spokenWhat We OfferA central and visible role with access to strategic decision-makingReal ownership, influence, and professional growthA modern, value-driven tech company with European reachA dynamic Aarhus office and a work environment with purpose and paceLocationBased at WasteHero HQ in Aarhus, Denmark.
