Financial Accountant About the RoleAn internationally active art company based in Zurich is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its local finance team and support the Director of Finance with day-to-day operations.In this role, you’ll manage the accounting for several Swiss entities and work closely with finance teams in Europe, Asia, and the U.S. You’ll join a small, collaborative team of four in a modern, fast-paced environment that combines structure with creativity. Expect modern digital tools (including Apple systems) and, after your probation period, the flexibility to work 1–2 days a week from home.And if you enjoy art openings or gallery events—you’ll fit right in (no art degree required).Your ResponsibilitiesManage full accounting for multiple Swiss legal entities, including general ledger and sub-ledgers.Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with Swiss accounting standards.Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, and petty cash.Maintain fixed asset ledgers, monitoring investments, depreciation, and disposals.Issue invoices related to services and art transactions.Oversee inventory accounting and ensure accurate valuation of stock levels.Prepare and submit VAT declarations for Switzerland and support tax compliance.Liaise with the company’s French subsidiary and local fiduciary partner.Create financial reports, analyses, and reconciliations for internal stakeholders.Contribute to finance-related projects, process improvements, and the implementation of Microsoft D365 ERP.Coordinate intercompany transactions and reconciliations across global locations to ensure accurate consolidation.Your ProfileCompleted commercial apprenticeship (EFZ) or equivalent qualification.Federal Diploma in Finance and Accounting (completed or in progress).Minimum of five years of experience in accounting or financial reporting; strong knowledge of Swiss GAAP (OR).Solid understanding of financial processes in an international business environment.A proactive, hands-on professional who enjoys taking ownership and finding practical solutions.Excellent Excel skills and proficiency in modern ERP systems (Microsoft D365 preferred).Comfortable working across different time zones (Europe, Asia, and North America).Strong communication skills in German and English (spoken and written); other languages such as French, Spanish, or Italian are an asset.Independent, detail-oriented, and efficient, with a positive and collaborative attitude.Why You’ll Love Working HereJoin a globally recognized company in the art world with an open, family-like culture where everyone knows one another.Enjoy a lively workplace with creative energy, international colleagues, and occasional travel for meetings abroad (e.g., the U.S.).Flexible working hours – start your day between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m., and after the probation period, enjoy 1–2 home office days per week.Modern tech environment: work with Apple (iOS) systems—training provided if you’re new to Mac.Full-time position (41.5 hours/week) with long-term career prospects and plenty of autonomy.Flat hierarchies, trust-based leadership, and a strong emphasis on team spirit and personal development.Regular team events and art-related gatherings – participation encouraged, but curiosity is the only requirement.Please note: This job posting is just a preview of the full scope of the position.
