They will support the team across a variety of cost and growth projects, with exposure to the team’s value creation practices in the course of their work.This position will emphasize the opportunity to collaborate extensively with the team in a fast-paced and global work environment. The Research Analyst will learn and apply key skills across both (1) due diligence of prospective investments (operational benchmarking, organizational analysis), and (2) portfolio company value creation (including but not limited to cost analysis, organizational analysis and growth strategy)Key skills & responsibilities across both diligence and value creation support include:Operational and Cost AnalysisReview annual company reports and company financial information to rapidly evaluate company’s operational efficiency, business model and strategy.Perform public and private company cost benchmarking (e.g. looking at P&L lines like COGS + OPEX) using Excel and summarize key findings into client-ready work products (typically PPT)Research efficiency benchmarks (like salary benchmarking, cost allocations, best in class practices etc.) for portfolio companiesPrepare detailed analysis and presentations to end to end (draft, do analysis, revise) to provide actionable insights and guidance.Assist with formation and execution of client’s key practice development initiatives, especially focused on documentation and automation (e.g. documenting portfolio company costs + doing analysis, creating insightful packs)Organizational Analysis Perform spans and layers analysis and compare organizational structure to competitive organizations and benchmarksPerform organizational benchmarking using tools like LinkedIn Talent Insights, the Org, Revelio, etc.Develop financial business case to support changes to organizational structure to improve efficiency and effectivenessBachelor’s degree (Economics, Finance, Business Admin., Accounting, Organizational Studies, and/or Computer Science)Personality / Culture: Exceptional work ethic and desire to learn new skills in a fast-paced environmentExceptional attention to detail and methodical approach to performing analysisExceptional resourcefulness to find solutions fast and collaboratively with clientsExceptional teammate who wants to roll sleeves up and support CRISIL colleaguesGlobally focused, high achieving and collaborative core mindsetWilling to go the extra mile if needed; looking to stay for at least 2 years in positionSkills / Experience:Excellent command of both spoken & written English is a minimumExcellent command of Microsoft Excel is a plus; high proficiency is a minimumExcellent command of financial statements is a plus, high proficiency is a minimumExcellent command of Microsoft Powerpoint is a plus; high proficiency is a minimumExperience with DataScience/AI is a plus, but not required
