The Financial Analyst position supports the St. John’s and Moncton Breweries and Atlantic distribution network performing various functions within and outside of finance and is responsible for financial reporting, providing accounting and reporting guidance, technical accounting research and financial reporting system maintenance to enable internal and external financial reporting and analysis.What You’ll Be Brewing Support the preparation of monthly financial reporting packages including P&L, variance analysis, and forecastingPreparation of weekly internal reporting packages Application of financial analysis techniques, tools, and concepts to help drive business resultsApplication of accounting principles and internal controls to provide objective, timely, and accurate financial information to meet / exceed financial reporting requirements and to help drive business resultsSupport annual budgeting process, liaising with business partners as required to drive budget completionPreparing journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure proper consolidated financial reportingPreparing monthly remittances of excise taxes, MMSB recycling fees and provincial liquor board commissions and coordinate annual audits and queriesManage non-product billings processPerform monthly Accounts Receivable clearing processSupport audit requirements and tracking deliverables with external and internal auditorsPreparation of statutory reporting and statements for excise tax and Statistics Canada surveysSupport payroll schedulingWork with SAP requisitions and purchase ordersAd hoc reporting and assisting our business partners as requiredKey IngredientsYou have a diploma or equivalent experience (2+ years) in the field of accountingYou have strong analytical ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve complex problemsYou have solid knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and internal controlYou have knowledge of SAP which is a plusYou have Strong ability to work independently and within cross functional teamsYou have strong Excel, communication and leadership skillsYou love a challenge.
