Financial Analyst: On behalf of our Public Services client, Procom is searching for a Financial Analyst for a 3 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office. Job Description: This role involves the preparation and review of financial statement note disclosures and the provision of reliable financial information related to electricity regulatory filings. The Financial Analyst will also implement accounting policies and support external auditors, while staying current with emerging IFRS and APH requirements. Responsibilities: • Preparation and review of inputs into the consolidated financial statement note disclosures on a quarterly basis • Prepare routine and non-routine journal entries and reconciliations on a monthly and quarterly basis • Provide reliable financial information, analysis, and operational support for electricity regulatory filings and internal management reporting • Implement accounting, organizational, and regulatory policies and internal control activities, including supporting external auditors • Discuss financial performance in terms of key value drivers and communicate the analysis behind the numbers • Stay current and compliant with emerging IFRS and APH accounting and disclosure requirements • Improve productivity by re-engineering processes and finding automation and efficiencies through IT tools • Implement risk management and internal controls, assessing and monitoring their effectiveness • Track and monitor progress of key projects and initiatives for company-wide accountability • Lead meetings and initiatives with business units and cross-functional teams to achieve desired outcomes • Perform ad hoc analysis, special projects, and initiatives as needed Mandatory Skills: • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or related field from an accredited school • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation in Canada • Five or more years of progressive financial analysis experience • Strong problem-solving skills • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities • Proficiency in IFRS and Accounting Procedures Handbook (APH) Nice-to-Have Skills: • Understanding of regulatory accounting and MIFRS • Experience with IT tools for process automation • Experience in the electricity sector • Experience leading cross-functional teams • Familiarity with risk management and internal controls Assignment Length: This is a 3 month contract position. Start Date: ASAP. Assignment Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days onsite.
