Today, Akuna is proud to operate from additional offices in Sydney, Shanghai, Singapore and London.What you'll do as a Financial Controller at Akuna:Akuna is seeking a Financial Controller to join our Finance department. We are looking for a proactive, self-starter who can work independently in a dynamic environment to achieve both individual and team goals. This position will work closely with other team members from Finance, Compliance, Trade Operations and Procurement. As Akuna continues to expand by opening new offices and entering new markets, this position will continue to gain exposure and experience within international accounting and the trading industry. In this role, you will:Monitor, maintain and improve accounting control proceduresSupervise the work of the accounting teamManage the completion of the month-end close process for numerous entitiesMaintain complete and accurate accounting records including General Ledger, Income Statement, and Balance Sheet reportingPrepare and file monthly, quarterly and annual reports for banks, regulators and other third partiesPrepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual transfer pricing and tax computationsParticipate in budgeting processCoordinate financial audits and tax returns filings with outside public accounting firmsQualities that make great candidates:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or similar5+ years of professional accounting experience and experience in managerial roleExperience leading the finance team of a trading company or public accounting experience in the financial services (trading entities) industryExcellent communication and analytical skillsProficient in MS Office software, specifically intermediate to advanced Excel skillsAbility to multitask and prioritize to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentDetail-oriented with a strong commitment to preparing accurate work
