Job Description

On behalf of a leading player in the Irish construction industry, we are seeking to hire an experienced Financial Controller to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a key leadership role within a dynamic and growing organisation, offering the opportunity to oversee financial operations, strengthen reporting structures, and provide strategic support to the executive team during a critical growth phase. Key Responsibilities: Lead the finance function, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting across multiple projects and business units. Manage the preparation of monthly management accounts, annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections. Oversee project costing, WIP reporting, and margin analysis in collaboration with commercial and operations teams. Drive process improvements and system enhancements to strengthen financial controls and reporting efficiency. Provide strategic financial insight and support to senior management to inform decision-making and business planning.Key Requirements: Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience. Proven background in financial management within the construction, engineering, or contracting sectors (advantageous but not essential). Experience working on consolidated group accounts and project-based financial control. Excellent communication and stakeholder mgmt skills, with ability to communicate clearly with operations, commercial and QS teams.
