Financial Controller - PE BackedHayward Hawk is working in Partnership with a high-growth, private-equity backed business to source a Financial Controller. Our Client is entering an exciting new phase of expansion - with ambitious plans for growth, strategic investment from PE, and a strong market position, this is a brilliant time to join the business and play a key role in shaping its financial future. This is a newly created role designed to strengthen the finance function as the business scales. Working closely with the CFO and the PE investors, the Financial Controller will have exposure across the entire organisation – from operational finance to board reporting and commercial decision-making. The RoleLead day-to-day financial control across the group, ensuring accuracy, rigour and compliance in all financial reporting.Own the month-end, management accounts and statutory reporting processes, driving improvements in efficiency and quality.Develop robust internal controls, policies and procedures to support scalable growth.Partner with the CFO on forecasting, budgeting and performance analysis.Produce high-quality financial and KPI reporting for the board and private equity stakeholders.Support commercial decision-making, including pricing, margin analysis, and investment appraisals.Lead and develop a small but growing finance team, instilling best-in-class discipline and accountability.Manage external relationships with auditors, banks, tax advisers and investors.Drive systems improvements, automation and integration as the business grows.Support M&A activity, due diligence, and integration of new acquisitions as required. The CandidateQualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).Strong technical grounding with excellent financial control and reporting skills.Ideally experience within a PE-backed or high-growth environment.Proven ability to work in a hands-on, fast-paced setting – comfortable rolling up your sleeves when needed.Commercially astute, with excellent analytical skills and sound business judgement.Confident communicator, able to engage with senior management, operational teams, and investors.Ambitious, proactive, and motivated by being part of a growth story For more information please contact Gemma Murphy in confidence.
