Financial Controller – Global Financial Services / Insurance Firm Location: London (Hybrid) Reports To: Group Corporate Controller Sector: Financial Services / InsuranceWe are supporting a global financial services firm in the appointment of a Financial Controller to oversee the financial operations of their UK business. This is a high-impact role, ideal for someone with experience in insurance or financial services, looking to take ownership of financial reporting, compliance, and operational finance in a growing international organisation.About the Role As Financial Controller, you will manage the day-to-day financial operations and reporting for the UK business, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. You will work closely with the Group Corporate Controller and senior leadership, providing insights to support strategic decision-making and business growth.Key Responsibilities:Lead the financial reporting process, ensuring compliance with UK/US GAAP and IFRSManage month-end and year-end close, including reconciliations, accruals, and preparation of financial statementsSupervise a small finance team, with scope to expand over time as the business growsSupport budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to inform strategic financial planningOversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities, ensuring accuracy and efficiencyMaintain and enhance internal financial controls to mitigate risk and improve operational processesManage bank reconciliations and ensure accurate reporting of cash positionsPrepare for audits and liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodiesImplement and improve financial systems and processes to drive efficiencyProvide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadershipRequirements:ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualifiedMinimum of 5 years’ experience in corporate accounting, preferably within the insurance or financial services sectorStrong knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and FCA financial regulationsExperience with insurance brokerage accounting, including premium accounting, is highly desirableProficiency in accounting software (e.g., Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skillsExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsAbility to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet strict deadlinesWhat We Offer:Competitive salary and benefits packageOpportunity to work in a dynamic, growing international businessCollaborative and supportive work cultureA role with real impact, helping shape finance operations across multiple marketsIf you have the relevant experience or know someone who would be a strong fit, please get in touch with us at Sanderson King to discuss this opportunity.
