Lastly, we believe that every great city in the world has a vibrant downtown, it’s Atlanta’s turn.Position Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our team. The Controller will play a key role in overseeing the financial operations of our commercial real estate portfolio, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all financial processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in real estate accounting, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of success in financial management.Responsibilities:Oversee all aspects of real estate financial management, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for all operating assets within the portfolio.Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data and compliance with GAAP and industry regulations.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.Coordinate annual tax filings with external tax advisors.Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard assets and mitigate risk.Analyze ramp-up and stabilized financial performance and provide strategic recommendations to management for improving profitability and efficiency.Collaborate with property management, leasing, and development teams to support business objectives and optimize financial outcomes.Transition buildings from development to operations, including preparing lease abstracts, and building set ups in Yardi. Manage commercial tenant’s financial setup including monthly rent payments, deposits, annual rent stepups, CAM charges and reconciliations and percentage rent calculationsWork with any potential 3rd party partners (such as residential property management) to provide reports as required. Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.Minimum of 7-8 years of technical experience in accounting.Strong knowledge of real estate accounting principles, including CAM reconciliations, lease accounting, and property management software (Yardi strongly preferred, or MRI).Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with colleagues, tenants and external partners.Detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Consistent and meticulous attention.Proven leadership abilities with a self-starter mentality.
