Controller – Real Estate InvestmentsLocation: North York (5 days per week in office)Compensation: $160,000 – $180,000 base plus bonusExcellent opportunity for a senior accounting professional to join an entrepreneurial real estate investment and management company based in North York. This is a hands-on, leadership role overseeing financial reporting, cash management, and the accounting team supporting a diverse real estate portfolio including multi-residential and commercial assets across Ontario. Priority will be given to individuals who have strong commercial property accounting experience.Responsibilities:Oversee preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and reporting packagesSupervise general ledger, working papers, journal entries, and bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and complianceLead financial system enhancements and process improvements to drive efficiencyManage compliance with federal, provincial, and municipal reporting requirements including HST and corporate taxesOversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial analysis to support key management decisionsLead CAM and tax reconciliations, capital calls, and investor distributionsCoordinate year-end audit and liaise with external auditorsMentor and develop a high-performing accounting teamRequirements:CPA designation (CA, CMA, or CGA) strongly preferredMinimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in commercial real estateStrong technical accounting background with a focus on reporting accuracy and timelinessExperience with Yardi or similar real estate accounting softwareProven leadership skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environmentIf you are interested in learning more about this opportunity, please apply now.
