Job Description

Full Time - Melbourne or Sydney We are currently seeking a Financial Crime Analyst to join our Enterprise Risk team. Reporting to the Head of Financial Crime, this role is critical in supporting the execution of AML/CTF processes across our business units and helping to ensure that financial crime risks are effectively identified, assessed, and managed. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with AML experience who is detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about protecting clients and the integrity of financial services. Key ResponsibilitiesConduct daily transaction monitoring and alert reviews to identify suspicious activity.Perform customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), and ongoing client risk assessments.Investigate and escalate unusual transactions in accordance with internal procedures and AUSTRAC requirements.Assist in the preparation and filing of Suspicious Matter Reports (SMRs).Support onboarding and periodic reviews of high-risk clients.Maintain accurate records of AML reviews, investigations, and decisions.Collaborate with Relationship Managers and Compliance teams to resolve AML-related queries.Monitor AUSTRAC and industry updates to ensure AML processes remain compliant.Participate in internal audits, regulatory exams, and compliance testing.What You'll Need to SucceedExperience in AML operations, preferably within wealth management or financial services.Strong understanding of AML/CTF regulations (e.g. AUSTRAC, FATF guidelines).Experience with transaction monitoring systems and case management tools.Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.Tertiary qualifications in Business/Commerce and/or related fields.AML certification (e.g. ACAMS) highly desirable.What We OfferA warm, open, and supportive culture.An attractive remuneration package, including reward and recognition programs.An employee wellness program, including discounted health insurance and an employee assistance program.A workplace volunteering and giving program to enable you to help others in the community.We are proud to be part of the Top 30 Best Workplaces to Giveback 2024.Discounted tax and estate planning services.16 weeks paid parental leave for the primary carer.Great central CBD location, modern office fit-out and end-of-trip facilities.Flexible/Hybrid working environment.About Us - Trusted Since 1888 Equity Trustees was established in 1888 and is now one of Australia's largest specialist trustee companies.
