Reporting to the leadership team, you will be primarily responsible for executing daily financial operations, including accounts payable, expense management, and ensuring meticulous preparation for our external accountants. This is a crucial role for a detail-obsessed and process-driven professional who will ensure RIVR’s books are clean and compliant as we scale internationally.At RIVR, we’re a fast developing and fast growing team; as such we’re looking for a person to grow with us and expand their scope as we expand around the globe. This role will have room to grow into financial budgeting, forecasting and modeling, as well as helping us navigate the complexities of developing, manufacturing, operating and selling around the world.What You’ll Be DoingAccounts Payable (AP) Ownership: Partner with our accounting firm to process all supplier invoices, including verification, cost coding, obtaining internal approvals, and ensuring timely payment processingExpense Management: Administer the corporate expense reporting system (e.g., dedicated platform), ensuring employee submissions are compliant with policy and processed for timely reimbursementBookkeeping & Audit Support: Serve as the main point of contact for our external accounting firm. Prepare and submit organized documentation for monthly and quarterly closing and financial reviewsTransaction Reconciliation: Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure compliance and accuracy and resolve any discrepancies promptlyFinancial Filing: Maintain and optimize the digital and physical archives for all financial documents (invoices, contracts, receipts) to ensure audit-readinessCompliance & Systems: Assist in gathering documentation for tax filings, regulatory reporting, and maintaining organized financial records in our chosen systemsProcess Improvement & Automation: Existing business process tools as well as new analytical capabilities allow for greater streamlining and scaling of the financial operation of the business. Partner with our ERP implementation team and external vendors to lead development and implementationWhat You Must Have2+ years of dedicated professional experience in an accounting support, accounts payable, or finance role, or a relevant equivalent degreeUnderstanding of Accounts Payable (AP) processing and experience working with bookkeeping principlesExceptional attention to detail and numerical accuracy; you must thrive in a role where precision is paramountProven ability to work independently, manage high-volume transactional tasks, and maintain strict confidentialityProficiency in ExcelFully fluent in English (written and verbal)Get some bonus points Familiarity with Swiss and international (GAAP & IFRS) accounting standardsExperience with the international payment process, particularly EU, USA, and PRCProficiency with modern accounting software (e.g., Abacus) or specialized AP automation toolsExperience with ERP systems (e.g., Odoo, or similar)Familiarity with Financial modeling (excel) and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) a plusWorking proficiency in GermanRIVR is committed to building a diverse and inclusive team that values every perspective.
