Financial Reporting & Accounting Consultant (freelance)

We are seeking an experienced Financial Reporting & Accounting Consultant with strong analytical and data management capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting and consolidation, combined with a data-driven mindset to enhance automation, accuracy, and reporting efficiency. This role involves close collaboration with finance teams and cross-functional teams, contributing to process improvements within the finance function.Responsibilities: Analyse and reconcile data between operational and accounting systems.Lead or support automation initiatives in consolidation and reporting processes.Review and enhance accounting transaction parameters and frameworks.Develop and implement an action plan to reduce manual entries.Support the implementation of an e-invoicing framework.Collaborate with finance squads on ad hoc or agile finance initiatives.Contribute to monthly and quarterly closings, identifying and implementing process improvements.Requirements: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Economics, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in accounting or financial reporting.Strong expertise in accounting principles and data management.Proven experience with reconciliation, consolidation, and automation projects.Fluency in French and English; good command of Dutch.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Detail-oriented, autonomous, and team-oriented with strong communication abilities.Awareness of financial risks and organisational context.Availability for hybrid work
