Job Description

An exciting opportunity exists for a Financial Services Clerk to join our Finance team in the Namibian Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accounting and administrative support to the organisation, ensuring efficient and effective management of financial and administrative tasks, including accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance and general finance support.Education and experienceDegree in Finance, Accounting or related fieldMinimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a professional services environmentProficient in the use of MS Software particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPointKey FunctionsThe responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:Creditors (Accounts payable)Process supplier and service provider invoices in accordance with internal approval proceduresMatch purchase orders and delivery notes with supplier invoicesPrepare creditor reconciliations and assist with monthly payment runsRespond to supplier and vendor queries promptly and professionallyEnsure compliance with firm policies and relevant accounting rulesBanking and Trust AccountingPerform daily banking reconciliations for both business and trust accountsMonitor and allocate incoming and outgoing funds across trust and business accountsEnsure all trust transactions are accurately recorded and appropriately supported by documentationLiaise with fee earners and/or secretaries to ensure correct treatment of client fundsDebtors (Accounts receivable):Assist with receipting and allocation of client paymentsMonitor outstanding client accounts and assist in following up on overdue balancesGenerate and distribute client statements and remindersLiaise with fee-earners and /or secretaries to resolve billing or payment related queriesPayments:Prepare EFT payment schedulesLoad payments into online banking systems accurately and on timeEnsure all relevant supporting documents are received for payment packsEnsure appropriate authorisations are obtained before payment processingGeneral Finance SupportMaintain accurate and organised financial recordsAssist with month-end and year-end closing proceduresProvide support during audit or compliance reviewsPerform adhoc duties as requested by the finance manager or reporting managerKey CompetenciesStrong attention to detail and high level of accuracyGood communication skills and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently as well as part of a teamTime management skillsAbility to meet deadlines in high pressured environmentStrong numerical and problem solving skills
