This pivotal role is responsible formaintaining the financial integrity of ENZ through effective accounting, robust systems, and accurate reporting.As the Financial & Systems Accountant, you will oversee core accounting processes such as month-end close, general ledger and fixed asset management, cash flow forecasting, tax compliance, and financial reporting. You will also play a key role in supporting audits, maintaining banking relationships, and developing tools and processes that enhance ENZ's financial capability.This is a fantastic opportunity for a financial professional who thrives on accuracy, takes ownership of outcomes, and is motivated to drive continuous improvement in financial systems and processes.Ngā Tino Pūkenga/Wheako - Essential Skills/experiencesTo succeed in this role, you will bring:A tertiary qualification in Accounting or Commerce and a CA or CPA. 3–5 years' experience in financial accounting, including general ledger management, reconciliations, and month-end close. Strong understanding of public sector finance, tax compliance (GST, FBT), and financial regulations. Proficiency with financial systems (e.g., Business Central, TechOne, Navision) and advanced Excel skills; experience using Power BI for reporting. Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communicator with a collaborative approach to working with internal and external stakeholders.
