About the RoleAs a Junior Data Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the design, development, and optimisation of data pipelines that drive business intelligence, trading operations, and customer insights across our global ecosystem. This is an ideal entry-level opportunity for an individual with strong SQL skills, a working knowledge of Azure data services, and a passion for building reliable and scalable data infrastructure in a modern, cloud-native environment. This role will be remote-based in Budapest. However, some office work will be required.
ResponsibilitiesSupport the development and maintenance of scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and SQL-based ETL processes. Assist in modelling, transforming and integrating data from multiple sources into our Azure Synapse and Databricks environments. Monitor data flows and troubleshoot performance or data integrity issues. Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure timely access to clean, well-structured datasets. Implement data quality checks and validation routines in line with governance and compliance frameworks. Document technical processes and contribute to data architecture and workflow improvements. Skills & Experience Proficient in SQL for data extraction, transformation and analysis.
Good understanding of data modelling concepts and relational databases. Familiarity with Python for data workflow automation or data manipulation. Ability to interpret and work with business requirements to design appropriate data solutions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams. Awareness of data security and compliance standards (e. g. GDPR). Enthusiasm for learning and developing in a cloud-native, modern data environment. Desirable Exposure to Databricks, Azure Synapse, or Power BI. Experience working with cloud platforms (Azure). Familiarity with CI/CD tools or data versioning practices.
