Our colleagues not only thrive, but they also have the chance to build long and fulfilling careers, fostering a sense of stability and dedication that ultimately benefits both the company and our valued clients.Accelerate YOU at Brillio!!Looking for a Firewall Engineer fully remote, anywhere in Romania.Responsibilities:Design, deploy, and manage enterprise-grade firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA/Firepower, Check Point)Configure and maintain firewall policies, NAT rules, VPNs, and threat prevention featuresPerform regular rulebase reviews, cleanup, and optimization to ensure performance and complianceLead firewall migration and modernization projects, including transitioning from legacy platforms to next-gen firewallsIntegrate firewall solutions with cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP) and support hybrid connectivityImplement automation and orchestration for firewall provisioning and policy managementCollaborate with network architects to design secure segmentation and Zero Trust architecturesSupport secure connectivity across data centers, branch offices, and cloud platformsMonitor and respond to firewall-related security events and vulnerabilitiesEnsure firewall configurations align with security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practicesDocument firewall designs, change controls, and operational proceduresParticipate in audits and provide evidence of firewall complianceRequirements:Proven experience managing enterprise firewall platforms (e.g. Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, Check Point)Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, VPN technologies, and security principlesExperience with cloud-native firewall solutions (e.g. Azure Firewall, AWS Network Firewall)Familiarity with automation tools (e.g. Ansible, Terraform) and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash)Knowledge of security frameworks (e.g. NIST, ISO 27001) and regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, PCI-DSS)Experience in infrastructure transformation and modernization initiativesStrong troubleshooting and analytical skillsCapable of analysing business and technical requirements and design/Implement project based on defined processesDemonstrated strong personal mastery, including ethics, interpersonal skills, and engagement in continuous learningAble to communicate and present complex issues with assurance and confidenceAbility to drive troubleshooting calls and have good skills in questioning, listening, idea development and influencingAbility to work with a team to provide written documentation and skills transfer to the larger technical organizationExcellent communication and documentation abilitiesFluent in English; German language skills are a plusExperience with SIEM and threat detection platforms (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel) (nice to have)Perks And Benefits We value your time and lifestyle preferences, so you can choose whether you want to work entirely remotely or from our offices in Cluj-Napoca, Oradea and Bucharest.
