HTMLJacksonville, FloridaProfessional-NonClinical54016mail_outlineGet future jobs matching this searchorOverviewJob DescriptionFull-TimeMonday - Friday8: 00am - 5: 00pmTo provide support to the privacy program of a multi-hospital healthcare system to include investigating and appropriately addressing privacy concerns/violations, timely breach notification, auditing and monitoring activities, and other duties that result in adherence to applicable privacy laws, rules, guidelines and regulations. Provides ongoing privacy compliance education and training. Conducts various types of privacy audits such as access audits and facility walkthroughs. Researches and responds to privacy inquiries.
Follows investigation protocols by conducting thorough interviews and document/audit reviews to gather facts, analyzing information against applicable privacy laws and policies, responding to reported, suspected, or confirmed non-compliance, and documenting all privacy investigations and outcomes within the designated incident management system. Coordinates with department leaders and Human Resources Department on corrective actions to make sure they are applied appropriately and consistently for similar privacy violations. Consults with the Senior Director of Privacy and/or Chief Privacy Officer, or designee, and Office of General Counsel, as needed. Assists Information Security with privacy matters. Provides privacy compliance advice and guidance.
QualificationsRequired Education: Associate's degreePreferred Education: Bachelor's degreeNecessary Skills Familiarity with electronic medical records systems Strong verbal and written communication skills Auditing experience Demonstrated ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment Knowledgeable of state and federal laws and regulations governing privacy in healthcare Prior experience producing and delivering adult education/training sessions Ability to research and understand complex regulations is required Proven ability to problem-solve Skill with Microsoft Office tools (including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) Organized, versatile, and able to work independentlyRequired Licensure/Certifications:
CHPC (Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance) required within 1 year of date of hire or transfer into the job. Preferred Licensure/Certifications: CIPP (Certified Information Privacy Professional), RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator), or RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician)Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years compliance, privacy, auditing, legal, or related work experience.
