Director Operations & Compliance

About The PositionWe are looking for a Director of Operations and Compliance to join our leadership team and help shape the foundation of FLEXECHARGE’s next growth phase. This is a high-impact role where your strategic thinking, structured mindset, and collaborative leadership will directly influence how we scale across markets. You’ll report directly to the CEO and work closely with a cross-functional leadership team across Product, Engineering, Sales, and Finance. Your focus will be to design and implement scalable systems, lead legal and financial operations, and ensure we grow in a compliant, efficient, and values-aligned way.

What you’ll doOrganisational Structuring & Strategic OperationsDesign and implement a scalable organisational structure tailored to a fast-growing companyDefine roles, responsibilities, and governance frameworks that promote clarity, inclusion, and accountabilityAct as a strategic partner to the CEO, supporting decision-making and leading initiatives such as OKRs, audits, and risk managementImprove internal systems and policies to strengthen collaboration and operational resilienceOperational Excellence & Financial ControllingStandardise and document business processes across teams (Sales, Product, Finance, HR)Identify and implement systems that drive automation, visibility, and efficiencyLead financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, and reportingEnsure finance supports the full business and customer lifecycle with real-time, decision-ready dataLegal, Contracting & Risk ManagementOversee all commercial and legal contracts with customers, partners, and suppliersBuild contract workflows that balance speed, risk management, and commercial agilityAlign legal frameworks with company strategy and long-term customer valueCollaborate with external legal advisors and ensure internal processes remain compliant and future-proofCompliance, Certifications & GovernanceLead organisational compliance across standards like GDPR, ISO 27001, and ESG reportingEmbed compliance into day-to-day operations, fostering a culture of integrity and accountabilityDrive audit readiness and manage certification programs that build trust with partners and stakeholdersSupport inclusive governance practices as we grow into new markets and segmentsIdeally, we’re looking forEducationBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Operations, Law, Finance, or a related fieldExperience5+ years of relevant experience, ideally in a scale-up or high-growth environmentDemonstrated success in building operational structure, managing compliance, and leading cross-functional processesExperience in managing legal frameworks and financial operations is highly valuedSkills & MindsetSystems thinker with an eye for detail and an ability to zoom out and align strategyStrong communication skills — you bring people together across disciplinesComfortable making decisions with limited information, and pragmatic about building what’s needed without over-engineeringPassionate about creating environments where people, ideas, and processes can thriveLanguagesFluency in English is required.
