Forecast Analyst

FORECASTING ANALYSTAs a Forecasting Analyst at Southern Company Services, you'll have the opportunity to shape critical decisions for a leading electric utility by developing and communicating energy and peak demand forecasts, collaborating with a broad network of internal stakeholders, and rapidly building expertise in electricity sales, revenue, and demand modeling. This opportunity will allow the successful candidate to become a trusted advisor whose insights drive operational excellence, strategic planning, and the reliable delivery of energy to millions, all while advancing your career in a dynamic, high-impact environment.Job ResponsibilitiesDevelop and communicate the energy, peak demand, and revenue forecasts for Southern Company's electric utility operating companies.Regularly improve and enhance company understanding of energy usage trends and their impact on energy demands and company strategies.Prepare and present results of the forecast and related projects to the operating company representatives. Provide technical expertise in forecasting and modeling across the companyProvide technical support in regulatory proceedings like Integrated Resource Plans (IRP) and rate case filings and PSC.Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients. Perform special projects and assignments.Job RequirementsBachelor's Degree required - B.A./B.S. strongly preferred in Economics or Statistics. Master's degree or graduate degree in a complementary field like Finance or Engineering is preferred. 6 months experience in forecasting or quantitative analysis is required. Must have strong quantitative, modeling, analytical, technical, organizational, project management, presentation, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills.
