Come talk to us about joining the Centerstone team!Job DescriptionROLE ELIGIBLE FORSign-on Bonus - $4,000Quarterly Impact Bonus - $1,500Summary Of PositionCenterstone provides case management, mental health, and substance use treatment to individuals involved in the justice system. As a Forensic Counselor, you will operate within a county correctional setting to provide individual and group counseling for clients with legal, behavioral health, and substance use challenges. This role requires the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with correctional staff to support the health, safety, and rehabilitation of detainees. You’ll also coordinate with courts, judges, clinical psychologists, and community service providers to promote recovery, continuity of care, and successful reintegration into the community. Along with the Sheriff Departments background this role is subject to drug screens.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesProvide mental health and substance use counseling.Conduct comprehensive assessments and coordinate services.Communicate and coordinate with courts, judges, court appointed clinical psychologists, Illinois Department of Human Services, and community services.Communicate and coordinate with the Jail Classification Division in the interest of providing insight related to detainee housing.Communicate and work with jail correctional staff, including Infirmary staff, as it relates to detainee health and safety.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesEffectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.Skilled in use of technology.Must successfully pass a thorough police background investigation to be conducted by the Sheriff’s Office.QualificationsEducation LevelMaster’s degree in Human Services field requiredYears Of ExperienceExperience providing mental health services to individuals in the criminal justice system, substance use disorders and/or co-occurring populations required.Certification/LicensureQMHP is required and LCPC, LCSW or CADC required within 2 years/per SUPR’s guidance.Physical RequirementsTask Percentage of Time/FrequencyStanding - 20%Sitting - 80%Squatting - occasionalDriving - OccasionalKneeling - occasionalLifting - OccasionalBending - occasional#IL2025OCTWK3Time TypeFull timePay Range$48,300.00--$67,700.00BenefitsDelivering care that changes people's lives starts with our employees.
