Our work is grounded in objectivity and adherence to engineering ethics, with every opinion supported by evidence and technical rigor.Position SummaryIntegral Forensics is seeking a Forensic Engineer to join our technical team in evaluating accidents, structural and mechanical failures, premises safety issues, code compliance disputes, and roadway/parking lot design matters. This role involves conducting field inspections, analyzing measurements and site conditions, researching codes and standards, and preparing engineering reports, declarations, and visual exhibits used in litigation.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically rigorous, and capable of translating real-world environments into accurate engineering conclusions. You will work closely with senior professional engineers and receive hands-on mentorship in forensic practice and expert-witness methodology.Location: El Segundo, CA (Hybrid; fieldwork across Southern California)Hours: Full-TimeCompensation: $130,000+ annually (negotiable based on experience), commensurate with experience and qualificationsEmployee health insurance fully covered, including dental and visionPaid time off (PTO) provided401(k) plan with employer matching beginning January 2026Key ResponsibilitiesConduct site inspections, obtain measurements, assess environmental/structural conditions, and document findings.Research, interpret, and apply building codes and safety standards (IBC, CBC, ADA, ASTM, etc.).Prepare engineering reports, declarations, diagrams, and supporting exhibits for litigation.Organize photographs, 3D scans, measurements, and documentation in accordance with firm procedures.Collaborate with forensic engineers to evaluate causation, mechanisms of failure, and liability issues.Perform roadway, walkway, or structural layout analysis using field data, photos, and measurement tools.Assist with deposition and trial preparation (diagrams, annotated images, summaries, etc.).Maintain accurate time entries, notes, and evidence chain-of-custody.Travel to field assignments as required (reliable personal vehicle needed; mileage reimbursed).Participate in team meetings, technical reviews, and QA processes.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Architectural, or Mechanical Engineering required.EIT certification preferred (PE or progress toward PE is a significant plus).2+ years of engineering experience preferred; forensic or field experience required.Strong technical writing skills and ability to explain engineering concepts clearly.Familiarity with building codes, safety standards, or construction principles.Ability to analyze photos, measurements, and site conditions to develop engineering positions.Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines.Hybrid role (office in El Segundo, CA) with regular fieldwork.Must possess a valid driver’s license and authorization to work in the U.S. Why Join UsWork with a passionate, high-performing team that values precision and trust.Enjoy flexible scheduling and hybrid work options.Be part of a rapidly growing company where your impact is visible and valued.Opportunity for hours and responsibilities to expand as the company grows.
