Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.Duties/ResponsibilitiesOperation and care of forklift in a safe manner. Must be qualified to properly operate the forklift. Complete and document a forklift inspection form before start of shift and when operating a new forklift and turn in maintenance work orders for repairs needed. Maintain neat, orderly, and safe stacks of stock in storage areas. Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed. Adhere to daily production schedule. Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery and service goals. Comply with all Company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping. Additional duties as assigned Locate stock before the start of the run, deliver appropriate stock to appropriate machines safely and on time, unload raw material from trucks, stack raw material in designated area according to machine. Removes units from unitizer’s conveyor, loads trucks, places units in storage, shrink wraps units with shrink wrap machine. Requirements18 years of age or olderSubmit to criminal background checkSubmit to pre-employment drug screenAuthorized to work in the USA.Able to report to work on time, per scheduled daysPrior work experience as a forklift operator, with the ability to pass a written and skills test for certification by Chief Container.Experience with “scanner” or “barcode” warehouse management inventory systems preferred. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.
